The Pilates Method is an investment in your overall health and wellness. Each individual has a unique body type with his or her own fitness challenges. BodyWave Pilates highly recommends all new clients start with an Initial Consultation and/or Privates sessions.

Initial Consultation:
The Initial Consultation is a one hour private session which includes an individual evaluation and postural assessment. You will be introduced to the fundamentals and principles of Pilates as well as some of the Pilates equipment. We will discuss your personal goals to help plan the direction of your Pilates experience with us.

Private Session:
We focus your private sessions to your body's specific needs. A wide range of Pilates equipment (reformer, tower, chair, spine corrector, ladder barrel) and mat will be utilized during your hour session. The first visit will be the initial consultation.

Mat Class

A solid mat foundation is key to progressing in the Pilates Method.  Our mat classes build upon the six principles of Pilates: control, concentration, center, precision, flow and breath. The Pilates fundamentals, which include pelvic stability, joint mobility, spinal imprinting/alignment and core engagement are equally essential to mastering the Pilates Method.

Mat Intro: This 8 week class is designed for people with little or no Pilates experience. The focus of this class is basic principles and fundamental exercises of Pilates mat. We highly recommend this class whether your interest is in the Pilates equipment or mat.

Reformer Class

The Reformer is a highly specialized piece of equipment that features a bed-like platform, which slides along tracks with a spring system for resistance. The challenge of exercising on this equipment comes from the spring system and maintaining balance and control on a moving surface, all the while focused on the core and alignment.

Reformer Orientation Series:
This 8 week orientation series is required for new clients who wish to enter a group Reformer class.*  These introductory training sessions, for 3-5 people, are designed to instruct you in the fundamentals of Pilates, proper body alignment as well as the basic exercises that are performed regularly on the Reformer.

*If a Reformer Orientation Series is not available, a minimum of 5 private sessions would be required prior to entering a reformer class.

Ball Class

This challenging class is designed to stretch, strengthen, and tone muscles while improving flexibility, agility and balance. Participants use the large physio-ball as well as other small equipment. Pilates principles are incorporated and emphasis is place on body alignment, posture, and control.

All classes are 55 minutes in length.
